Little Giants 20th in d3football.com poll

The final national preseason poll has been released, and once again the Wabash football team has been selected as one of the top teams in the nation.

The Little Giants, coming off an 11-1 season and a 7-0 North Coast Athletic Conference record and league championship, have been picked 20th in the d3football.com rankings. The national web site poll is selected by football coaches, college sports information directors, and national media and is released weekly throughout the Division III football season.

Wabash fell five spots from its final d3football.com ranking at the end of the 2005 season. The Little Giants received 141 total points in the opening poll. Wooster and Wittenberg were two other NCAC schools receiving votes, but neither program made the top 25.

Football players report to campus Sunday, August 13. The Little Giants open the season at Franklin College on Saturday, September 9 for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff. Wabash will find out where it will be picked to finish in the conference standings by the coaches and the media Tuesday morning at the annual NCAC Football Media Day in Granville, OH.
