Ingram Discusses Research on Lovegrass

Assistant Professor of Biology Amanda Ingram brought faculty colleagues up to date on her research into a species of eragrostis, or lovegrass.

In a presentation titled "What’s Lovegrass Got to Do With It?" Ingraham outlined her ongoing research with Wabash students into the evolutionary history and structure of lovegrass, work she began as a graduate student at Cornell.

She said the biochemistry of this particular type of lovegrass doesn’t correlate with its anatomical structure, and she and her students are using micrographs of leaf cross-sections, and other methods, to more closely detail that structure and solve the mystery of this seeming disconnect between the plant’s biochemistry and structure.
