Thirty-nine minutes into Saturday's soccer match between Wabash and Kenyon, Little Giant forward George Padgitt headed a ball past goalkeeper Jamie White for a 1-0 lead. Wabash would hold that advantage until eleven minutes left in regulation when a match-tying goal by Todd Walters sent the two teams into overtime. Neither squad would tally a goal in either of the extra periods to finish in a 1-1 tie.
Wabash managed only three shots on goal and only only two attempts in either of the two exta periods. Freshman Matthew McClain started the match in goal before junior Jon Miller took over in the 14th minute. Miller posted three saves on four shot attepts by the Lords. (View photos from the match.)
The match was the first in North Coast Athletic Conference for either team this season. Wabash is 1-7-1, while Kenyon played its third consecutive double overtime match to move to 2-4-2 for the year.
The Little Giants are off until Saturday when they travel to Allegheny College for a 1 p.m. match.
