Honors continue to roll in for senior quarterback Dustin Huff after leading the Little Giants to a 42-28 win over Ohio Wesleyan Saturday. Huff has been named to the d3football.com national Team of the Week.
The senior signal caller threw for 416 yards on 22-of-28 passing against the Bishops. He also threw for five touchdowns and ran for a sixth score in the victory. His 416 yards are the sixth-best effort by a Wabash quarterback and makes Huff one of only three quarterbacks in Wabash history to top the 400-yard mark. He joins former Mike Gregory North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year Award winners Jake Knott '03 and Russ Harbaugh '05.
Huff also became the second quarterback to throw for four or more touchdowns in three consecutive games. Knott tossed five TDs in three straight contests in 2001. Huff has thrown for 1,115 yards and 13 touchdowns in three games with a completion percentage of 66.1 (72-of-109 with 2 interceptions). He ranks second in the nation in total offense (405.7 ypg), trailing only Josh Vogelbach (421.8 ypg) from Guilford College in North Carolina. Huff is also fourth in the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 187.7.
Huff also received NCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Ohio Wesleyan.
