Minneapolis Alums Serve Homeless Shelter

Wabash Service Day in Minneapolis was held on Sunday, October 15, 2006.

Wabash men gathered at the People Serving People Homeless Shelter (PSP) to provide assistance in the Food Services area.  Along with a group of young people from Northwestern College in Iowa (participating in an urban immersion experience through the Urban Ventures program in Minneapolis), the breakfast meal was served to the families in residence at PSP, and meal prep was done for future serving.

Onions caused many a tear in the food prep area, but those slices and choppings were superior, as we learned from the tomato slicing technique of our medical doctor alumnus.

The Wabash men enjoyed their service opportunity once again in 2006.  Participants this year included:  John Lennes ’66, Bob Neal ’60, Tom Supel ’61, and Charlie Crowley ’71.
