Second-Half Goal Sends Wabash to Defeat at Wooster

Coming off Thursday's win over Franklin College, the Wabash soccer team hoped to get off to a good start at Wooster Saturday afternoon.

The Little Giants did just that in the first half, but a header by Wooster in the opening minutes of the second period led to a 2-0 loss by Wabash to the Scots.

Steve Fracasso followed a free kick by the Scots into the box and hit a header for the first goal of the match at the 2:02 mark of the second half. Not only did the Little Giants go down 1-0, but a few minutes later they lost the services of goalkeeper Matt McClain to a concussion.

Wooster would add an insurance goal in the 57th minute. Wabash would keep the Scots off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match.

The Little Giants had an opportunity to tie the match at 1-1, but an apparent goal by freshman Andrew Kapsalis was disallowed due to an offsides call against Wabash.

The Little Giants (3-12-1, 1-5-1) return to action Wednesday night for a make-up match at Ohio Wesleyan. The two teams saw an earlier contest postponed due to weather.
