Senior distance runner Dennis Frazee scored two wins at Saturday's Wabash Alumni Indoor Track and Field Invitational.
Frazee easily won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:52.44, finishing 10 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. He added another first place finish in the 3,000-meter run, winning the event with a time of 9:12.44. Micah Milliman added a fourth place finish in the 3,000, finishing in 9:27.55.
Sophomore Bobby Kimp was narrowly edged out of the 55-meter title in the finals. Kimp finished second with a time of 6.69, but lost by two-thousandeths of a second to Dominique White. Mike Russell was just behind in third place with a time of 6.76.
Senior Nathan Bates took second in the 400 meters with a time of 51.28.
Freshman Emmanuel Aouad finished second in the 55-meter hurdles, finishing the race with a time of 7.82. The rookie added a fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.56 meters), while teammate Russell took fifth (6.21 meters).
Aouad, Tim Rickard, Russell, and Bates combined to cruise to a victory in the 1600-meter relay. The quartet won the race with a time of 3:31.23.
Other top performances came from Nelson Barre in the pole vault (fourth, 12-06) and Hugh Jackson in the mile (third; 4:31.93). Rickard grabbed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:04.49), just ahead of Jackson in fifth (2:04.83). Ben Tritle was sixth in the shot put final with a mark of 13.20 meters. Chris Schweigel took fifth in the high jump (5-10).
Wabash scored 108 points, trailing only St. Joseph's College with 126.50. Indiana Wesleyan was third (67.5), followed by Indianapolis (60), Manchester (65.5), Marian (52), Vincennes (17), Bellarmine (15), Taylor (7), and Grace (5).
The Little Giants will participate in the NCAC Relays this Saturday at Denison.
