The Wabash tennis team conclude its play over the week of spring break Wednesday afternoon with a 5-4 victory over Muskingum to go 3-1 during the trip to Atlanta and Hilton Head. Tuesday afternoon the Little Giants lost a 5-4 decision to Baldwin-Wallace.
Josh Paul picked up a three-set victory in the team's win over Muskingum with a 7-5, 0-6, 14-12 win against Brad Gwindon in the third singles' flight. Nathan Mullendore added a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Casey Capute at fifth singles. Sean Clerget also went three sets in his 2-6, 6-0, 10-6 sixth-flight of singles win against Sam Das.
Jay Horrey and Adam Van Zee battled to a 9-7 victory at number one doubles. Paul and Dan Petrie scored a 9-8 (10-8) victory at number three doubles.
Horrey had a three-set 3-6, 6-3, 11-9 win in the first flight of singles play against Baldwin-Wallace. Paul was forced to go three sets once again in his fourth singles match (6-7, 6-3, 10-6). Clerget added a 1-6, 6-1, 10-5 win at sixth singles over Dan Mitoff.
Adrian Starnes and Clerget picked up the only doubles victory for the Little Giants with an 8-3 win at second doubles.
Wabash (6-6) returns to Indiana to compete against Rose-Hulman on Wednesday, March 14 at the Collett Tennis Center in a 5 p.m. match.
