Netters Take 8-1 Victory over Rose-Hulman

Wabash scored wins in eight of the nine matches played Wednesday evening, improving to 7-6 for the year with an 8-1 victory over Rose-Hulman at the Collett Tennis Center.

The Little Giants opened the match outdoors for the first time this season at home, earning three wins in doubles play on the outdoor surface. Jay Horrey and Adam Van Zee combined for an 8-6 win in the first flight, with Adrian Starnes and Sean Clerget taking an 8-3 victory in the second flight. Dan Petrie and Josh Paul were 9-7 winners at third doubles.

Horrey added a straight sets 6-1, 6-0 win at number one singles. Van Zee was also a two-set winner, scoring a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the second flight of singles action. The remainder of the team was forced to move to three sets after moving inside due to darkness. Starnes scored a 6-2, 4-6, 10-7 win at number four singles. Nate Mullendore battled to a 7-5, 1-6, 64 win at fifth singles, while Clerget lost the first set of sixth singles 4-6 before responding with a 6-4, 10-8 victory.

Wabash will play host to Wartburg College at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, followed by a match between Wartburg and Manchester at 1 p.m. The Little Giants will conclude the weekend's play with a match against Manchester at 4 p.m.
