Linksters Second after First Round at the Hanover Invite

Freshman Sam Russell fired a two-over 74 to pace the Little Giants to second place after one round of the Hanover Invitational Sunday afternoon.

Wabash shot 310 as a team, trailing Brescia University's 298 first day total. Rose-Hulman (318) is third, followed by Hanover (326) and Vincennes (326), Mount St. Joseph (331), and Anderson (337).

Sophomores Jordan Vice and Bryan Arnold are two shots back from Russell after each finished Sunday's round with a pair of 74's. Junior Brandon Neighbors shot an 84, while JP Manalo finished with an 86.

The Little Giants won the Hanover Invitational in 2004 behind the third-place finish of Kevin Casey '05.

Competition concludes on Monday at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana.
