Junior Geoff Lambert continued his quest for a third consecutive All-American award by qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with his win in the 800-meter run at the 2007 Indiana Intercollegiate "Little State" Meet. His time of 1:52.16 was well ahead of the provisional mark of 1:53.20 and just short of the automatic time of 1:51.30.
Hugh Jackson added a second place finish in the 1500-meter run to help Wabash finish ninth out of 20 teams overall. Jackson crossed the finish line in 4:06.92.
Bart Banach was fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.28), while teammate Dennis Frazee took fifth in the 10,000 meters (32.06.89). Banach was also sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.01, with Nathan Bates crossing the line right behind in seventh (50.45). Nelson Barre finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing a height of 13 feet, 5-1/2 inches.
Keegan McLaughlin was seventh in the javelin with a mark of 137 feet, eight inches.
Wabash will host the Second Annual Stan Huntsman Multi-Event Invitational this Friday and Saturday. Men will compete in the decathlon in addition to the regular invitational events, while the women will add the heptathlon to their schedule.
