Wabash junior Bart Banach won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes at Friday night's Twilight Track and Field Invitational at Rose-Hulman.
Banach won the 200 with a time of 22.39, while teammate Richard Roomes posted his fastest time of the season with a mark of 22.73 to finish third.
Three Little Giants took the top-three spots in the 400. Banach won the race after crossing the finish line in 49.56 for a season-best time. Nathan Bates was second, also topping his best mark of the year with a time of 49.68. Geoff Lambert was third (49.96).
Freshman Emmanuel Aouad was the only other individual winner for Wabash, taking the top spot in the 110-meter high hurdles with a winning time of 15.45. He took second place in the long jump with a mark of 22 feet, 1-1/2 inches.
Sam Compton-Craig was second in the steeplechase (10:00.12). Dennis Frazee took fourth (10:12.28), while Matt Maher was seventh (10:31.37). Justin Sparks finished third in the discus with a mark of 134 feet, 5 inches. Lincoln Smith was third in the javelin (140 feet, 4 inches), with Brent Banach taking sixth (136 feet, 7 inches). Sparks was also fourth in the hammer (134 feet, 8 inches).
Bobby Kimp added a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.79). Hugh Jackson was fifth in the 800 (1:58.69).
No team scoring was kept for the meet.
The Little Giants will prepare for the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Championships to be held at Ohio Wesleyan University May 4-5.
