Little Giants Golfers 10th at Kenyon Cup

The Wabash College golf team finished 10th out of 15 teams at the Kenyon Cup, held Saturday and Sunday at the Apple Valley Golf Club in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

Ohio Wesleyan University was first (604 strokes), followed by Allegheny (615), Rochester (626), and John Carroll (628). Denison was fifth (630), Wittenberg took sixth place (631), Wooster was seventh (638), Capital was eighth (650), and Ohio Northern was ninth (639). Wabash finished with 673 strokes, with Heidelberg (674), Kenyon (676), Case Western Reserve (680), Hiram (704), and Oberlin (715) rounding out the team scoring.

Sophomore Caleb Selby (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) led the Little Giants with a two-day total of 164. Selby fired an 83 in the first round, followed by an 81 on the second day. Senior Joe Mills (Lafayette, IN/Central Catholic) shot a 166 (85-81), freshman Kevin Casey (Indianapolis, IN/Cathedral) had a 173 (85-88), senior Rob McCourt (Greenwood, IN/Greenwood Community) finished with a 174 (89-85), and freshman Parker Collins (Bloomington, IN/Bloomington South) shot a 178 (85-93).

Wabash will battle Rose-Hulman in the first round of the Giant-Engineer Match Play Classic on Tuesday, April 9 at Hulman Links in Terre Haute if the weather conditions permit play.
