Juniors' Summer Plans

Jason Gray from Avon, Indiana will be returning to his hometown to work at Regal Cinemas as an Associate Manager; Jason Siegel will be working at the Matthew 25 Free Clinic with the support of the Indiana Internship Initiative as well as working as a Phlebotomist at Adams County Memorial Hospital; Mike Karam will be going home to Columbus, OH for a marketing internship at Cedar Enterprises, his father’s company.

Chris Geggie will have a busy summer.  Currently studying abroad in Rome, Chris will be traveling to England, Germany, and Turkey to conduct research on Constantine the Great, a trip funded by the Dill Grant and Givens Award.  Then he will assisting Wabash professor Leslie Day in Crete with an archaeological dig and then will spend the rest of the summer in Athens working at the American School for Classical Studies assisting in more digs;  Valparaiso, IN native Andrew Rodenbarger will be working alongside Wabash professor David Polley conducting research in Crawfordsville on in Chlamydomonus and their subsequent deficiencies in potassium transport.

Chander Troy of Carmel, IN will also be spending the summer on campus while he attends the Business Immersion Program; Nathan Hoff will be going home to Bedford, IN to work at Duke Energy; Eric Eder of Forth Worth, Texas will be interning at the Fort Worth Cats, a minor league baseball team.  Michael-Paul Hutchins will be working at Dads Inc. in Indianapolis, a non-profit agency which is dedicated to helping fathers build better relationships with their fathers.  Jason Simons of Logansport, IN will be in St. Louis this summer as an intern in parish ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church and will be the adult leader on a summer mission trip to Mexico.  He learned of the job through Adam Fronczek ’01 who pastors Fourth Presbyterian in Chicago.

Matt Vest from Nineveh, IN will be researching the influence of German immigrants on Catholicism in Indiana through a Present Indiana grant.  Bryce Chitwood will be returning again to Crestline, CA to work as a Program Coordinator at Camp Paivika, a camp for children and adults with special needs; Jesse James will be returning home to Sullivan, IN as an assistant to the Sullivan County Prosecutor.

Trayton White, of Bluffton, IN, will be in Wilmington, DE for a research and development chemistry internship with Agilent Technologies; Geoff Calvin will be returning home to Fort Worth, TX to learn elementary Greek at the University of Dallas-Irving. Paul Spranger of Carmel will be working in Indianapolis this summer as an intern for the Indiana Economic Development Corp; Rodney Frederick from Farmersburg, IN will be conducting a youth ministry internship at Agape Christian Church in Terre Haute, IN with help from the Dill Grant; Barton Bridge has an internship at Northwestern Mutual Financial in Zionsville.

Robert Boarman of Mt. Vernon, IN will be staying in Crawfordsville this summer to take a marketing internship with Sustainable Indiana, Inc. as well as conducting some independent study in Philosophy with Wabash Professor Mark Brouwer; Alex Nolan will be in Lawrence, KS this summer for a chemistry internship with the University of Kansas; Mike Hotz will be interning with the Indy Racing series and will work in the TV compound assisting the Production Manager and Technical Director.

Adi Pynenberg from Oswego, IL will be on campus this summer working in the Business Immersion program along with Andy Deig of Evansville, IN; Brandon Stewart will be interning at Radio America in Washington, DC as well as joining eleven other students from across the country to spend two weeks in Prague with the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.  Nick Lyons will spend the summer traveling to Florida and Maryland and then off to Colorado with senior players on the football team; Josh Bellis of North Port, FL will be living in Crawfordsville this summer while interning at both the Wabash Financial Aid Office and the Center of Inquiry, studying all-male education.  Ryan Leagre will be working with psychiatrist and Wabash alum Chris Bojrab '89 with support from the Indiana Small Business Grant.

Max Bader will be moving to Alaska for three months to work with the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association to conduct research; Kyle Luth from Attica, IN will be interning with Wabash professor Eric Wetzel as well as working for two weeks at Camp Paivika and visiting Oregon and Washington.  Justin Gardiner from Monticello, IN has received the Krache Internship Award to work with the History Department at Wabash College.  Alex Harrington from Tulsa, Oklahoma will be living and working in Denver, Colorado.

Josh Harris will be participating in the Fund for American Studies Program in Washington, DC in the Institute on Business and Government Affairs (IBGA) track.  Tim Rickard will be working with Ted Williams '06 and Kevin Meyer '06 at My Own Experiment, Inc with the help of the Triple I Scholarship.  Ryan Grand from Indianapolis, IN will have an internship at Citigroup Global Markets in Chicago working under Wabash Trustee Rade Kljajic ’78.  Phillip Merriet will be interning as a youth director at Cumberland United Methodist Church while taking summer classes and visiting Rome.

Scott Gallant has secured funding through Wabash’s Small Business Fund to work at the Liquor Mart in Boulder, CO.  Brian Hilts will be doing medical research back home in Fort Wayne, IN along with taking class at IPFW.  Ryan Forbes Morris from Los Angeles, CA will be studying abroad in Arles, France through the Kenneth Rhys European Summer Study Grant.  Barron Hewetson will be interning the HR department at Eli Lilly.

Matt Maher from Greentown, IN will be working on campus and lifeguarding at the municipal pool in town.  Alex Goga from Bucharest, Romania will be conducting a sales and marketing internship with RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. in Indianapolis.  Adrian Mendoza will be traveling to Chiapas, Mexico with the aid of the Dill grant to work with the indigenous population.  Gary Simkus will have an internship is with AMIGOS de San Cristobal A. C. in Chiapas, Mexico funded through the Dill Grant.  He will be working with David Orr ’57.

Ndeto Mwose from South Bend, IN will be spending the summer in Crawfordsville interning with Dr. Tim Lake doing research on African American history in each south eastern county in Indiana.  Andrew Newkirk will be interning for the Indiana Republican Party and will either be in charge of organizing things in Shelby County or working at the state headquarters in Indianapolis.  James Inman will be taking summer classes at Purdue.  JP Patterson will be interning at Allegient, LLC, an IT consulting firm for marketing as well as working at Easley Winery on the weekends.

Tyler Williams from Rosedale, IN will be interning at the Lew Wallace Museum in Crawfordsville as well as performing a play at a local theater in Rockville, IN.  Neal Monroe will spend part of the summer returning to Spain to meet up with friends he made during his recent study abroad experience.  He will then return stateside to take classes at Purdue.  Paul Smith will be at the Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia.  Cory Norman from Flora, IN will be working with Todd Rowland ’85 at the Bloomington Hospital for three months.

John Kasey will be interning in Indianapolis at the Wabash American Benefits Group will help from the Small Business Internship Fund and Wabash American Benefits CEO and President Tracy Williams ’84.  He will also go sailing in the British Virgin Islands at some point.  Lincoln Smith from Bluffton, IN will be involved with a 9 week molecular/computational Biology research internship at Princeton University.  Tom Elliott will be will be performing at ComedySportz Indianapolis.  He will perform improvisational comedy on evenings and weekends and also writing a novel in his spare time.

Kyle McClammer will be with working at Clarian Health (a Work Indy internship) for first 2 months of summer and then interning with Hancock Regional Hospital the last month of summer.  He will also be studying at IUPUI and taking the LSATS and GRE.  Justin Sparks will be staying on campus this summer doing research with the Dr. Sparks-Thissen in the Biology Department.  Tim Ulrey from Lafayette, IN will continue studying in Chile all summer.
