Vice Takes Fifth at NCAC Golf Championships

Sophomore Jordan Vice earned First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors at the league's 2007 Men's Golf Championship. Vice shot a two-day, three-round total of 231 to take fifth place in the individual scoring. Wabash finished sixth overall as a team.

Vice opened with a 74 for his first 18 holes on Saturday, then played the first nine holes of his second round, which concluded Sunday morning with a 76. Vice finished with an 81 over his final 18 holes to become the only Wabash player to earn First Team All-NCAC honors, and the first All-NCAC player since JP Manalo earned Second Team honors in 2005.

Manalo finished his final collegiate round with a 253 (82-86-85) to finish in a tie for 28th place. Bryan Arnold scored a 244 (81-77-86) to finish in a tie for 20th place. Brandon Neighbors was 27th (81-77-86--244). Sam Russell finished with a 257 (80-83-94) to finish tied for 30th place.

Wabash finished sixth with a total score of 973 (313-317-343). Ohio Wesleyan won the tournament with a score of 897. Allegheny was second (919), followed by Denison (952) in third. Wooster (965) and Wittenberg (965) tied for fourth place. Hiram (992), Oberlin (1,078), and Kenyon (1,102) completed the team scoring.

The NCAC Championships are combined with three other matches played earlier in the year to determine the league's automatic qualifier to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship. Ohio Wesleyan won the titleby 63 strokes over Allegheny. Wabash was sixth (2,961) in the final four-event standings.
