Little Giants Ranked Seventh by Street & Smith's

The Wabash football team cracked the top-10 of the Street & Smith's 2007 College Football Annual. The Little Giants are picked seventh in publication, while senior linebacker Adrian Pynenberg (left) earned preseason All-America honors.

Pynenberg was named to the magazines DIII All-America team, adding to his First Team All-America selection by Lindy's College Football 2007 Preview. He was the 2006 North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being selected to the D3Football.com All-America Second Team. Pynenberg led the Wabash defense for the third consecutive season in tackles, amassing 101 stops in 10 games. He was fourth in the conference in total tackles, tied for second in tackles for losses (14), and third in sacks (7.5). Pynenberg had a career-best 20 tackles against Millikin, one of five games he reached double figures in total tackles. He enters the 2007 season second in career tackles for losses with 47, fourth in total tackles (283), and eighth in quarterback sacks (18.5).

Lindy's ranked the Little Giants 16th in its magazine after Wabash tied for the NCAC conference title in 2006 with an 8-2 overall record and 6-1 mark in league play. Wabash also captured NCAC titles in 2005 and 2002.

Both publications listed the Little Giants' October 13 game at home against Wittenberg as one of the key DIII games to watch in 2007. Wittenberg shared the 2006 NCAC conference championship with Wabash and earned the NCAA tournament berth by virtue of the Tigers' 19-17 win.

Wabash opens the 2007 season at home against Franklin College on September 8. The Grizzlies handed the Little Giants their only other loss last year in a 45-38 overtime decision.
