Vice Ties For Fourth at Franklin Golf Invite

Junior Jordan Vice shot a two-day total of 145 at the 2007 Franklin Fall Golf Invitational to take fifth place in the individual rankings. He finished one-over par after shooting a 73 in the opening round and finishing with a 72. He trailed medalist Mike DeRuntz from Illinois Wesleyan by eleven strokes. DeRuntz fired a 135 (-9). Franklin's Nate Schlie was second (79-57--136), while Illinois Wesleyan's Matt Wennmaker (72-72--144) and Bennett Blakeman (72-72--145) finished just ahead of Vice.

Sophomore Sam Russell was 22nd with a two-day total of 154 (75-79). Bryan Arnold tied for 30th (82-79--161), while Justin Chin tied for 38th (78-86--164).

Wabash finished fifth in the nine-team competition. The Little Giants scored a total of 625 strokes. Illinois Wesleyan won the match with a score of 572. Transylvania (590), Franklin (621) and Anderson (623) rounded out the top four places.

The Little Giants travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania this weekend to play in the Griffin Motors Classic hosted by Allegheny College. The event concludes the fall portion of the North Coast Athletic Conference competition. Wabash finished sixth at the Kenyon Invitational, the fall kickoff event.
