Wabash Wins Big at Art Show

The results of the Crawfordsville Art League’s sixth annual juried art exhibit were announced Friday and two artists with connections to Wabash College found themselves on top.

The Alcoa CSI Award for Any Medium went to Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science Robert Foote of Crawfordsville for his spalted maple and rosewood vase.  In addition, the Jury Prizes of Distinction, sponsored by the Crawfordsville Antiques Study Club Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa went to Steve Miller ’08 of Crawfordsville for his plaster and foam work "Triangle."

Other familiar faces from Wabash College involved in this year’s art show include:  Brad Bernard, Terry Jackson ’71, Kim Johnson, Professor Stephen Morillo, Professor Ann Taylor, Mark Turpin ’09, and the 2007 Honorary Artist Lee Detchon ’23.

This year’s show features 123 works of art by 65 regional artists.  The art is displayed in 28 windows downtown Crawfordsville through October 7.
