As a part of the Wabash College Experience Indiana Speakers and Artists Series, David Bennett, a historian on Thomas Riley Marshall, will give a talk at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 25, in Room 101 (Lovell Lecture Room) in Baxter Hall. His talk is free and open to the public.
Bennett is the author of "He Almost Changed the World: The Life and Times of Thomas Riley Marshall." Bennett’s book examines the life and career of Woodrow Wilson’s Vice President, Thomas Riley Marshall and a graduate of Wabash College in 1873. The book 
contains the most complete description of the events surrounding Woodrow Wilson’s severe stroke in October of 1919, and the debate over Marshall’s potential succession to the Presidency.
Bennett grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He earned his bachelors degree with highest honors in economics from Williams College and a masters degree in public affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Studies at Princeton University.
A question and answer session will take place immediately following his talk. The Wabash College Experience Indiana Program is funded by a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.
