Freshman Seth Einterz finished eighth, one of four Wabash runners to earn All-Conference honors at the 2007 North Coast Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Championship. The Little Giants finished third out of 10 teams at the annual race, hosted this year by Kenyon College.
Einterz crossed the finish line in 26:18 to earn Second Team All-NCAC honors. Junior Sam Compton-Craig was 16th (26:47). Junior Hugh Jackson finished 17th (26:49), while senior Ben Bly took 18th (26:55). All three were Honorable Mention All-NCAC selections based on their finishing positions.
"It was the first time in a long time to have four All-Conference runners," head coach Roger Busch said. "It’s also our highest team finish since joining the NCAC. Even though we finished third, everyone ran better than they did here seven weeks ago at the Great Lakes Colleges Association meet. Bly trimmed 1:05 off his time from that race. Compton-Craig was 51 seconds faster, and Jackson was 55 seconds faster than his GLCA time.
"We didn’t taper for this meet. We thought coming in we could finish second or third. We had a shot at third, but we faltered a little bit in the final mile and just missed Denison by six points."
Geoff Lambert finished 31st with a time of 27:19, giving Wabash a team total of 90 points. Allegheny won the meet with 19 points. Denison was second with 84 points.
Justin Allen was 48th (28:05) for the Little Giants, while Sam Prellwitz was 61st (29:56).
Wabash will compete in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional at Calvin College November 10
