Hartnett Presents in England

Assistant Professor of Classics Jeremy Hartnett presented a paper "Excavation Photographs and the Imagined World of Pompeii’s Streets" at Ruins and Reconstructions: Pompeii in the Popular Imagination Conference in Bristol, England in July. He also presented a gallery talk, "Movin’ On Up: Climbing the Roman Social Ladder," at the Indianapolis Museum of Art for the Roman Art from the Louvre exhibition. Hartnett will present a paper, "Tales from the Streets of Pompeii," to the Central Illinois Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America in Champaign-Urbana and his article, "Si quis hic sederit: Streetside Benches and Urban Society in Pompeii" will appear in the January 2008 volume of the American Journal of Archaeology.
