Wabash Controls Both Sides of the Ball in 58-0 Victory over Kenyon

The Wabash offense amassed 463 yards of total offense while the Little Giants held Kenyon to 10 yards of total offense in Saturday's 58-0 victory over the Lords. The victory was the tenth in a row for Wabash, dating back to last season. It was also the seventh consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference win for the Little Giants.

The game was never in doubt as the Little Giants scored on their first seven possesions of the game. The defense also got in on the scoring attack in the first quarter as freshman defensive lineman Aaron Selby (Crawfordsville, IN/Southmont) knocked the football away from the Kenyon quarterback and junior Val Benoit (LaJoya, TX/LaJoya) scooped it up and raced 21 yards for the touchdown. Selby led the Wabash defense with five tackles.

Junior Chris Morris (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville), freshman Chris Ogden (Schererville, IN/Lake Central) (photo right), and seven other ball carriers helped Wabash to 284 yards on the ground. Morris had 12 carries for 205 yards, the first time he has topped 200 yards in his career. It also marked the third consecutive game Morris has rushed for over 100 yards, the first time a Little Giant has accomplished that feat.

Senior tight end Ryan Short (Indianapolis, IN/Perry Meridian) caught three passes for 16 yards and two TDs, putting him one touchdown reception away from tying Mike Funk's Wabash career record of 33. Junior Josh Bronaugh (Crawfordsville, IN/North Montgomery) led the receiving corps with four catches for 58 yards and one TD.

Senior quarterback Jake Knott (Lafayette, IN/Jefferson) threw for 132 yards and three TDs on 10-of-13 passing.

The Wabash defense had seven sacks and held Kenyon to negative rushing yards as the Lords finished the game with 25 carries for minus 54 yards.

Wabash is 3-0, 1-0 in the NCAC. The Little Giants will return to Byron P. Hollett Little Giant Stadium next Saturday for a Homecoming contest against Allegheny College.
