Grapplers Split Indiana's Best Dual Matches

The Little Giants posted a 39-9 victory over Rose-Hulman but dropped a 29-15 decision to Tri-State University at Sunday's Indiana's Best Duals held at Chadwick Court on the Wabash campus. Rob Arnett, Jared Tribbett, and Robert Beeler each finished 2-0 in individual competition.

Arnett (left) defeated Rose-Hulman's Rey Beremen 12-4, earning four team points for Wabash with a major decision victory at heavyweight. Tribbett pinned his opponent, Anthony Finigan, 1:29 into their 149-pound bout. Beeler also scored a major decision with an 18-3 victory against Eric Shulte in the 174-pound weight class.

Joing the trio with victories in the Rose-Hulman match was Cody Johnson. The sophomore defeated Tim Orr 11-5. Michael Burke won 18-3 over Braxton Anderson. Stephen Iles, Keith Closson, and Seth Flater each received forfeits in their respective weight classes.

Tribbett (right) scored the first win for Wabash against Tri-State with a 6-2 victory at 149 pounds. Beeler also won a close decision, an 8-6 win against Nick Kraus. Arnett defeated Kyle Brown 8-5.

Stephen Mosier had the only pin for Wabash against Tri-State, sticking Jon Bradley to the mat at 3:25.

Wabash will participate in the Spartan Mat Classic at Manchester College Saturday, January 19.
