Little Giant Harriers Take Second at Manchester

The Wabash cross country team, led by senior Mark Sherer (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso) and his second-place finish, took second place in the team totals at the Manchester Invitational on Saturday.

Sherer toured the course in 26:30. Junior Dan Ruge (Chesterton, IN/Chesterton) took fifth place with a time of 27:14. Junior Dan Sweet (West Bloomfield, MI/Culver Military Academy) was 13th, finishing in 27:58. Sophomore Zach Eichel (Columbus, IN/Columbus North) (22nd place, 28:45) and freshman Ethan Paul (Evansville, IN/Reitz Memorial) (26th place, 29:05) rounded out the scoring for Wabash.

Taylor won the team competition with 42 points. Wabash finished with 58 points, followed by Manchester with 58 points. Wabash won the tie-breaker as sixth man Jesus Campos (Philadelphia, PA/Pharr-San Juan Alamo North, TX) finished 28th (29:13), one place ahead of Manchester's sixth runner.
