Overtime Goal Gives Wabash Soccer Win at Kenyon

An overtime goal on a header by junior Sean McNulty (Ft. Wayne, IN/Bishop Luers) gave Wabash a 2-1 victory at Kenyon College on Saturday afternoon.

McNulty scored the gamewinner after Cody Lawson (Carmel, IN/Carmel) sent a header into the box to set up the goal. McNulty drove the shot into the back of the net just four minutes into the extra period to give Wabash its second North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season.

Freshman Jeff Diebel (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) scored the first Wabash goal in the first half on a pass from senior forward Carlos Aguirre (Indianapolis, IN/Ben Davis). Kenyon tied the match at 1-1 midway through the second half before McNulty's heroics in overtime.

Sophomore John Taggart (Carmel, IN/Hampton Roads Academy) earned the victory, recording seven saves in the match.

Wabash moves to 7-8 with the win, 2-5 in the NCAC. The Little Giants will play Hiram at Mud Hollow Field in Crawfordsville on Saturday.
