The Little Giants took an early 2-0 lead in Greensboro, North Carolina on RBI singles by the junior duo of Jake Thomas and Matt Dodaro (congratulated in photo). A run by Guilford in the second and another in the fourth tied the game at 2-2 when the Quakers' Jason Flud hit a three-run homer to left.

Wabash responded with three runs of its own in the top half of the sixth. Dodaro opened the inning with a walk and a stolen base off reliever Alex Pecevich. Freshman Tanner Coggins drew another walk, reaching third when senior Shaun Rico's sacrifice bunt scored Dodaro on a throwing error by the Quakers' third baseman. Rookie PJ Tyson brought home the second run of the inning with a single through the left side of the infield. Rico came home on a wild pitch two batters later to tie the game at 5-5.

Guilford came right back with three more runs in its half of the sixth. A single and an error put two base runners on for the Quakers, but freshman relief pitcher Nick Shrader induced two ground outs and appeared ready to end the threat.

Guilford's Joe Johns ended that hope when he lifted a three-run homer to left to put the Quakers back on top. Wabash threatend once more in the seventh with two runners on with only one out, but could not capitalize on the opportunity.

Thomas, Dodaro, and Tyson each had two of the Little Giants' eight hits. Mike Korfhagen went five innings as the starter, striking out seven batters while giving up six hits and four walks. Schrader suffered the loss after facing six batters in the sixth. Patrick McCarley threw two shutout innings in relief to close out the game.

Wabash (0-3) will head to Texas and Tennessee for a series of games during the College's spring break the first week of March.

Third baseman Bobby Ritz tosses to second for a force out.
