Suzan-Lori Parks to Lecture at Wabash

Wabash College’s Visiting Artists will present a lecture by Suzan-Lori Parks at 8 p.m., Monday, March 24, in Salter Hall at the Fine Arts Center.

Named one of Time magazine’s "100 Innovators for the Next New Wave," Suzan-Lori Parks is one of the most exciting and acclaimed playwrights in American drama today. She is the first African American woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize in Drama and is a MacArthur "Genius"Award recipient, among many other honors. Her project 365 Plays/365 is being produced in more than 700 theatres worldwide, creating one of the largest grassroots collaborations in theater history. One of the first to recognize Parks’ writing skills, her mentor, James Baldwin, declared Parks "an astonishing and beautiful creature who may become one of the most valuable artists of our time."

Seating for Visiting Artists Series events will be by general admission, though free tickets are required for Visiting Artists Series programs.

Tickets not claimed at the Box Office 10 minutes prior to curtain will be released to the general public.
