Wabash faced a tough Claremont-Mudd-Scripps tennis team Wednesday afternoon. Shortly after the Stags had beaten eighth-ranked Mary Washington 7-2, CMS handed Wabash an 8-1 defeat.
Sean Clerget and Ryan Waldon scored the only victory for the Little Giants with a a 9-8 (4) win at third doubles.
Junior Jay Horrey battled through three sets before falling 4-6, 7-6 (2), 10-3 to the Stags' Ben Wiener in second singles action. Freshman Will Pelak also pushed his first flight of singles play to three sets before losing to Russell Brockett 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
The Little Giants conclude their California spring break trip with a Thursday afternoon match at Whittier College.
