Greek Archaeology is Topic of Classics Lecture

Wabash College Classics Department will host Jeremy B. Rutter who will give a talk on "What’s in a Name? Reconsidering Minoan ‘Palaces’" at 8 p.m. Monday, March 17, in Room 101 (Lovell Lecture Room) in Baxter Hall.

Rutter is the Sherman Fairchild Professor of the Humanities and Professor of Classics at Dartmouth College. Rutter has many years of excavation experience, most recently spending summers in Kommos (Crete) from 1991-2003 and Mitrou (mainland Greece) beginning 2004 as a ceramic analyst. He has designed and implemented several Web-based teaching tools that feature images of historic sites and ancient artifacts.

His talk is free and open to the public.
