Wabash Golfers Enjoy Hole-In-One on Arizona Trip

The Wabash golf team watched one of its hosts hit a hole-in-one during Wednesday's scrimmage against NAIA powerhouse Mesa Community College. Tom Bennett '60 put his tee shot in the cup on the 167-yard, par 3 hole number 14 at Dobson Ranch Golf Course. The Little Giants have been playing and practicing at some of the top golf courses in the Phoenix, Arizona area during their annual spring break trip.

Bennett's shot into the wind on number 14 helped him to a final round of 72 as he played with the coaches trailing the Wabash and Mesa players. Jordan Vice had the top score for Wabash in the scrimmage, firing a 71. Freshman Luke Moton shot an 81, along with sophomore Kyle Nagdeman's 81. Jordan Koch and Bryan Arnold each finished with 82's, while Sam Russell shot an 84. Mesa's players scored consistently in the upper 60's and low 70's to win the scrimmage.

The Little Giants play at Eagle Mountain Friday before returning to Indiana Saturday evening. Wabash begins the 2008 portion of its official season next Saturday and Sunday at the Hanover Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour, Indiana.
