Two victories in doubles play and a sweep of the top-four singles matches led Wabash to a 7-2 win at Rose-Hulman on the Engineers' home tennis courts Wednesday evening.
The Little Giants opened with wins at second and third doubles for a 2-1 lead. Will Pelak and Ryan Tennyson scored an 8-4 victory in the second flight, while Sean Clerget and Ryan Waldon combined for an 8-1 win in the third flight.
Pelak scored a straight sets 6-1, 6-3 win at number one singles. Luke Bielawski was pressed in the second set before coming away with a 6-1, 7-6 (5) win in the second singles flight. Jay Horrey won 6-0, 6-1 at third singles, while Tennyson picked up a singles win in the fourth flight with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) decision.
Jacob Castilow scored the final team point with his 6-2, 6-2 victory in the sixth singles flight.
Wabash (5-7) heads to Iowa this weekend for matches against Luther and Wartburg Colleges.
