Zimmer Earns D3hoops.com Honors Again

Andrew Zimmer has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region team for the second consecutive season. The senior center was named to the Men's All-Great Lakes First Team after garnering Third Team honors last season.

Zimmer, who was recently named the Wabash basketball team's Most Valuable Player for the second season in a row, was third in the North Coast Athletic Conference in scoring with an average of 17 points per game. He finished fifth in rebounding at 7.4 a contest, and was second in blocked shots with an averaage of 1.25. Zimmer's 82.4-percent free thow shooting mark was fourth-best in the league. He was 170-of-332 from the field for 51.2 percent, 10th-best in the NCAC.

The senior co-captain posted single-game bests for his career in points (36) and rebounds (14) against Oberlin late in the season. He scored 30 points or more in three games and was over 20 points a game eight times this year. He finished his career with 1,374 points --- 10th on the Wabash career list. His 596 career rebounds put him ninth on the Little Giants' all-time boards list. Zimmer is one of only three Wabash players to score more than 1,000 points, grab more than 500 rebounds, and block more than 100 shots. He closed his Wabash career with 118 rejections, third-best in school history.

D3hoops.com All-Region players were nominated by sports information directors at the conclusion of the season. SIDs were allowed to vote for players within their region, but could not vote for players from their own team.
