The 2008 Wabash College Multicultural Festival is underway and will continue through Saturday, April 12. Events range from Polish films to Asian dances to a lecture by Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X.

Thursday, March 27
11:50 a.m. — Lion Dance on the mall sponsored by Asian Student Society followed by a cookout sponsored by Unidos por Sangre and the International Students Association. Click here to view photos of the Lion Dance.
5:00 p.m. Fish and Splits — Fish fry and banana splits at the Malcolm X Institute
Friday, March 28
3:30 p.m. — A Multicultural Palate: A celebration of native languages and sampling of foods at the Malcolm X Institute (various native speakers representing 10 languages will share poetry, prose or song in their native tongue; language interns, language clubs, UPS, ISA, Asian Students, and other clubs will provide ethnic foods). Monday, March 31 — Polish Day
12:00 p.m. — Michael Opieczonek and Filip Lempa will show a short film and make a presentation about Silesia in Detchon International Hall (includes lunch)
8:00pm Screening of the Polish film "White" directed by Kieslowski in the Hays Science Hall, Room 104 (includes pizza).
Tuesday, April 1
12:00 p.m. — Opening for Permanent Installation of African Art in the Malcolm X Institute (includes lunch).
6:30 p.m. — African Buffet Dinner and Round Table discussion led by keynote speaker Dr. Benson Onyeji of Manchester College. Hosted in Detchon International Hall (reservations required).
8:00 p.m. Brazilian Capoeira Group, an exciting mixture of martial arts, acrobatics, and dance.
Wednesday, April 2
8:00 p.m. — The Japanese film "Seven Samurai," sponsored by the Asian Students Association, will be shown in Korb Classroom of the Fine Arts Center (Sushi will be provided).
Thursday, April 3
7:00 p.m. — MXIBS Visiting Speaker: Ilyasah Shabazz (daughter of Malcolm X) will lecture in the Wabash College Chapel.
Tuesday, April 8
8:00 p.m. — "Maria Full of Grace," a film sponsored by Unidos Por Sangr™ will be screened in Hays Hall, Room 104.
Wednesday, April 9
8:00 p.m. — Wamidan Concert (world music and dance ensemble) in Salter Concert Hall.
Thursday, April 10
8:00 p.m. — "Lust, Caution," a Chinese film directed by Aung Lee, will be shown at 8:00 p.m. in Hays Hall, Room 104 (a pre-screening reception is sponsored by the Asian Students Association).
Saturday, April 12
6:00 p.m. — International Students Association Dinner at 6:00 p.m. in Knowling Fieldhouse (reservations required).
