Wabash took an 8-1 win over Earlham in North Coast Athletic Conference tennis action Wednesday night despite missing three players in the starting lineup.
Jay Horrey, Luke Bielawski, and Ryan Tennyson were all unable to travel with the Little Giants to Richmond, Indiana Wednesday night after injuries suffered over the weekend at the Kerry Seward Invitational combined with classroom committments cut into the Wabash roster. Will Pelak, ranked tenth in singles play in the ITA Central Region, scored a 6-3, 6-1 win at number one singles. Ricky Ritter stepped in for Horrey at number three singles, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Jacob Castilow took a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the fourth flight of singles action. Ian Sequeira scored a win in straight sets in the fifth flight, posting a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Luke Robbins added the final singles point with a 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
Pelak and Ryan Waldon were 8-3 winners at number one doubles. Sean Clerget and Robbins combined for an 8-1 victory at in the second flight of doubles play, while Ritter and Billy Evans won 8-0 in the third flight.
Wabash (7-9, 3-2) will play at Wittenberg University Saturday morning.
