Tankers Move to 2-0 with Win over Transylvania

The Wabash swimming and diving team moved to 2-0 for the season, defeating Transylvania University 150-128 on Saturday afternoon.

The Little Giants dominated the relay events, taking first place in both the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle.

The team of Matthew Perkins (Indianapolis, IN/Brownsburg), Colin Fahey (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard), Brandon Peacock (Crawfordsville, IN/Crawfordsville), and Michael Brickman (Richmond Heights, OH/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin School) touched first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:42.21. Fahey, Brickman, Peacock, and Steve Birrer (Indianapolis, IN/Brownsburg) added a first place finish in the 200 free relay, finishing in 1:30.44.

Peacock added an individual first place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, winning the race with a time of 54.70. Birrer was third in the 100 fly (58.28).

Brett Findley (Bargersville, IN/Franklin Community) came from behind in the final 100 yards to finish first in the 500 freestyle. Findley outtouched the rest of the field, finishing with a time of 5:08.32. Nick Collins (Michigantown, IN/Clinton Central) also finished strong in the event, taking third place with a time of 5:09.95. Findley also won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.36.

Dennis Bowers (Seymour, IN/Seymour) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.53.

Demetrian Cook (Woodbridge, VA/C.D. Hylton Senior) was the top diver for Wabash, taking first place on the one-meter board (137.80 points).

The Little Giants will swim at Wittenberg University on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m.
