The game is a complete sellout for the first time during Wabash’s biannual turn to host the legendary rivalry. For safety and security reasons, capacity at Byron P. Hollett Little Giant Stadium was set at 8,200, which includes a record 4,000 temporary seats added specifically for this contest. Wabash and DePauw both exhausted their respective ticket allotments 10 days before Saturday’s battle.
There will be no tickets available at the gate on game day.
Fans without tickets are not without options. The game will be televised via satellite by WIPB-TV and in-state by WFYI-TV (Channel 20 in Indianapolis). The broadcast, which will be viewed by joint Wabash-DePauw alumni gatherings in more than 40 locations nationwide, will begin at 1 p.m. EST with kickoff slated for 1:08 p.m.
Wabash fans who arrive on campus without tickets are welcome to view the game in the College’s Sparks Center, where it will be shown on a big screen television. Capacity in the Sparks Center’s Great Hall is limited to 200 fans.
College officials report that excitement about this year’s Monon Bell game is unprecedented. Interest has been stoked by Wabash’s top ten ranking, its first playoff berth since 1977, and the possibility of a perfect regular season.
Wabash, NCAC football champion and automatic NCAA Division III playoff qualifier, could host a post-season game on November 23 pending the outcome of the Monon Bell game.
The NCAA will announce playoff pairings and locations of first round games on Sunday, November 17. An update will be posted to the web site late Sunday afternoon.
Satellite coordinates for the game are:
The KU satellite is SBS-6 Transponder 5 74 degrees west longitude Horizontal Polarization -- 11823 MHz
C-band is Galaxy 3C, Transponder C07 95 degrees west longitude Vertical Polarization -- 3840 MHz
