Little Giants Fall to KZoo in 2008 GLCA Tennis Finale

For the second time in as many days the Wabash tennis team faced a nationally-ranked opponent at the 2008 Great Lakes Colleges Association Men's Tennis Tournament. The Little Giants lost 5-3 to Kalamazoo College Saturday morning in Newark, Ohio. The Hornets are currently ranked  26th in the nation and sixth in the Central Region in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll.

The third doubles team of Will Pelak and Ryan Waldon scored their 10th consecutive win with an 8-5 victory over Kalamazoo's . Luke Bielawski and Ryan Tennyson dominated the Hornet duo of Jason Brown and Cyrus Jadun at number one doubles, defeating the 16th-ranked pair 8-1.

Pelak battled a regionally-ranked singles player for the second consecutive match at the GLCAs. He lost 6-1, 6-3 to Brown, the 17th-ranked player in the region, at number one singles. Bielawski saw his 13-game winning streak at number two singles come to an end, falling in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) to Jadun.

Jay Horrey scored a straight sets 6-3, 6-3 win over Matt Wise to complete the team scoring for Wabash.

The Little Giants are 10-11 for the season. Wabash will play its final regular season match Wednesday at 5 p.m. at DePauw University
