A good second round at Oakhaven Golf Club sent the Wabash squad past Wooster and into seventh place at the Ohio Wesleyan University/Strimer Memorial Invitational Sunday afternoon. The Little Giants finished with a total of 651, one stroke ahead of the Scots.
Wabash overcame a two-stroke lead held by Wooster after Saturday's opening round. Jordan Vice was the top individual for the Little Giants, trimming five shots off his Saturday total to fire a 76 Sunday. He finished with a two-day total of 157 to finish in a tie for 14th place.
Bryan Arnold was consistant throughout the tournament, finishing in a tie for 37th place with a 165 (83-82). Sophomore Sam Russell cut 10 strokes off his Saturday tally, shooting a 168 (89-79). He tied teammated Luke Moton (81-87--168) for 48th place. Jordan Koch shot a 170 (90-80).
Ohio Wesleyan won the tournament with a 603. Wittenberg was second (617), with Olivet (621) finishing third. Tri-State (630) was fourth, with Denison (637) and DePauw (643) finishing ahead of the Little Giants.
Wabash will compete in the Wooster Invitational this weekend.
