Wabash moved up one spot in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region rankings. The Little Giants are 16th in the region, the highest ranking ever for the squad. Will Pelak remains ranked among singles players, falling to 15th in the polls.
Pelak (right) is 19-11 for the season in singles play, including a 12-8 dual-match mark. He is 3-6 against regionally-ranked opponents this season.
The Little Giants faced a nationally-ranked opponent for the third consecutive time Wednesday when they lost 9-0 at DePauw University. The Tigers are fourth in the Central Region and 14th in the national poll. Wabash lost 5-2 to Carnegie Mellon University in the second round of last weekend's Great Lakes Colleges Association Men's Tennis Tournament. Carnegie Mellon, ranked 17th in the nation at the time, went on to defeat DePauw 5-4 in the tournament semifinals. Wabash lost its last match of the tournament to Kalamazoo College 5-3. The Hornets are ranked 26th in the nation.
