Vice's All-Conference Links Effort Leads Wabash to Sixth

Junior golfer Jordan Vice earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors for the second consecutive year after tying for seventh at the 2008 NCAC Golf Tournament held at the Granville Golf Course Saturday and Sunday. The Little Giants finished sixth in the tournament and sixth in the final conference four-event standings.

Vice (right) was in the running for tournament medalist honors after the first two rounds. He fired a 74 in the first round and was tied for second after playing the first nine holes of round two. A strong finish Sunday morning over the second nine holes of round two put him in a tie for first with a one-over 72. Sunday's final 18 holes proved to be tougher, as Vice shot an 82 to finish with a three-round total of 228. He scored a 704 over the four-event conference competition, finishing ninth in the individual standings for Second Team All-NCAC honors.

The Little Giants shot a 976 for the two-day tournament to finish sixth, and had a total of 2,924 strokes in the two fall and two spring conference events to take sixth. Ohio Wesleyan won both the conference overall and tournament titles. The Battling Bishops shot an 887 over the weekend and a 2,669 for the season.

Sam Russell tied for 18th at the league tournament after shooting a 238 (77-80-81). Luke Moton finished 32 (85-84-84--253), while Jake German finished tied for 34th (86-84-87--257). The Little Giants' fifth player, Charlie Kelly, shot a 262 (89-86-87) to take 36th place.
