Football Prepares for 2008 Season with Wheaton Tune-up

The Wabash football team spent its final weekend practice on the football field in a scrimmage against Wheaton College Saturday afternoon before opening the 2008 regular season September 13 at Denison University.

The two squads matched up under perfect weather conditions at Hollett Little Giant Stadium in the final pre-season event before both squads play for real next weekend. (View photos of the scrimmage here.)

The Little Giants play Denison at 1 p.m. in Granville, Ohio next weekend. The Big Red opened the season with a 49-27 win at Kalamazoo. Denison quarterback Mike Barnes tied a 29-year-old school record by rushing for 270 yards against the Hornets in the win.
