Hudson Earns Weekly NCAC Honor

Junior quarterback Matt Hudson has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Wabash football team to a 41-27 win at Denison Saturday.

Hudson threw for 391 yards and six touchdowns in the Little Giants' victory. The six TDs tied the school record for touchdown passes in a game set by Jake Knott '03 against Allegheny and again versus Hiram in 2000. The 391-yard effort was the second-best of Hudson's career, eclipsed only by a 417-yard game last season against Oberlin.

The Salem High School graduate missed nearly all of the practices leading up to the Denison game after suffering a sprained thumb in the scrimmage against Wheaton.

"Monday and Tuesday we limited his throwing because of the thumb injury," head coach Erik Raeburn said. "We completely eliminated his throwing Wednesday in an effort to allow the thumb to try and heal a little faster. I think Matt got our season off to a great start with the way he played Saturday."
