Freshman Femi Oluyedun (right) first half goal in Wednesday afternoon's soccer match at Anderson to give the Little Giants a 1-0 win against the Ravens. The victory is the first road win of the season for Wabash and puts the Little Giants over .500 for the year with a record of 4-3-2.
"We had four or five chances to score in the first 25 minutes of the match," head coach Roberto Giannini said. "We could have put the match away in the second half, but could not manage to score another goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Pat West recorded his fourth shutout of the season. He came into the evening tied for second with Earlham's Kyle Thompson in the North Coast Athletic Conference in shutouts, one behind Oberlin's Zach Lipshultz.
"The guys played good soccer for 20 to 25 minutes. We have to do better than that if we want to get a win in the North Coast Athletic Conference."
His Little Giant team will get that chance this Saturday when Wabash travels to Denison University for a 1 p.m. league match.
