49th Annual Little State Wrestling Tournament Results

The 49th Annual Little State Wrestling Tournament is in the books with ten new champions crowned at Chadwick Court Saturday afternoon.

Wisconsin-Whitewater 125-pounder Max Oldenburg was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler and also received the Most-Pins Award after putting three opponents on the mat during the two-day event. Oldenburg defeated top-seeded PJ Martinez from the University of the Cumberlands 13-1 in the championship match.

Top-seed Eric Ellington from Rend Lake held on for a 6-5 victory in the 133-pound title bout against third-seeded Ethan Harris from the University of Indianapolis. The Greyhounds' Matt Irwin was an 11-4 winner at 141 pounds after defeating Eric Meyer from the College of Mount St. Joseph.

Cumberlands' Jeff Steele beat David Harris in the 149-pound title bout. Unseeded Bryan Massong from Mount St. Joseph knocked off top seed Cory Fornal 3-1 in the championship match at 157 pounds to claim the Little State title. Pat Nagel added another title to the Wisconsin-Whitewater effort with a 5-3 win against Jake Holler at 165 pounds.

Top-seeded Nick Kraus put a cap on his 174-pound title run by pinning second seed JT Jenkins 4:27 into their championship match. David Casper from Wisconsin-Whitewater won 6-5 at 184 pounds against Chad Craft. Rob Nusekabel won by technical fall with a 16-1 decision in the 197-pound championship match. Travis Clark beat fellow Findlay teammate Matt Clum in the heavyweight title match with a 3-1 decision.
