Tankers Drop 146-59 Contest at Indianapolis

Junior Craig Vetor scored the lone Wabash victory in the 200-yard freestyle Friday night in the Little Giants' 146-59 loss at the University of Indianapolis. 

Competing for the second time in three days, Wabash posted 12 top-three finishes in the dual meet. Vetor won the 200 free with a time of 1:46.14 before adding a second-place finish in the 100 free (48.56). Jordon Blackwell was third in the 100 free with a time of 48.81. Blackwell also finished second in the 50 free, finishing in 22.25.

Elijah Sanders took second in the 1000 free, touching the wall in 10:12.49. Eric Vaughn was third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:02.45. He was also third in the 100 butterfly (53.51). Nick Rockefeller grabbed third place in the 100 backstroke (55.32), while Evan Rhinesmith was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.69). 

Blackwell, Vetor, Robert Fozkos, and Chris Kermin combined for a second place finish in the final event, the 200 free relay (1:27.49). Matthew Routh, Adame Current, Jordan Extine, and Rockefeller were third (1:31.09). The Wabash quartet of Rockefeller, Rhinesmith, Vaughn, and Fozkos were third in the 200 medley relay (1:40.61) to open the meet.

Wabash will compete in its final dual meet of the season on January 30 when the Little Giants swim against Kalamazoo College. The meet will be held at Notre Dame as part of a combined dual meet with St. Mary's.
