David L. Callecod '89

David is CEO of Lafayette General Medical Center, a four-hospital healthsystem in Lafayette, LA. He received his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1994. Callecod began his healthcare career in 1989 at Culver Union (now St. Clare) Hospital in Crawfordsville after a brief stint in Admissions and as Assistant Baseball Coach at Wabash.

Callecod received the 2005 Regent's Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives and was a 40underForty award winner from the Indianapolis Business Journal in 2001. He led his former hospital in Marion, IN to Top100 Hospital, HealthGrades Five-Star and Magnet Status in 2008. He is very active on many boards, including NAWM and Blueprint Louisiana. He previously served on the boards of the Indiana Hospital Association, VHA Central and was a member of the President's Advisory Committee at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Since graduation, Callecod has been active in recruiting and also has provided internships for many Wabash students at his hospitals. Callecod co-founded the Grant County Association of Wabash Men and W.A.B.A.S.H. Days while in Marion. At Wabash, he was active with The Bachelor, Student Senate and baseball. David and his wife Kim have three children. He is a member of the 1832 Society.
