David Lewis is the Vice President ¨– Global Taxes & Chief Tax Executive of Eli Lilly and Company, where he has been employed for over twenty years. Prior to Lilly, he engaged in the private practice of law.
Dave is a leader in international and U.S. tax policy within the U.S. corporate community, having founded and led several corporate tax policy legislative initiatives.
He serves on the Board of Directors of The Tax Foundation, The Tax Council, the Tax Council Policy Institute, The 500 Festival and Cathedral High School, chairs the pharmaceutical industry’s Tax Committee, and co-chairs the High Performance Government initiative in Indianapolis focusing on efficiency and quality within and across all levels of local government. He is also actively involved with the Host Committee for the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis. Dave graduated from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington (’84).
At Wabash, Dave majored in economics and was involved in numerous campus activities, including the Sphinx Club. Dave has long been very active in promoting and sustaining a strong relationship between Wabash College and Eli Lilly and Company, including recruiting and career development. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and three children, the oldest of which attends Wabash. Dave is a member of the 1832 Society.
