Wes Chamblee finished 8th in the 400-meter dash and Kevin McCarthy took 10th in the mile at Friday night's Hoosier Hills Invitational indoor track and field meet at Indiana University. Wabash posted five top-15 performances against a strong Division I field of athletes.
Chamblee (right) ran a time of 50.54 in the 400 to grab eighth place. McCarthy (below left) ran a season-best time of 4:19.34 in the mile to take 10th place. Teammate Hugh Jackson also finished with a season-best time of 4:20.22 to finish 14th.
Emmanuel Aouad was 10th in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.58. Wade Heiny just missed a spot in the top-15 list, grabbing 16th place with a time of 8.87. Kyle Edwards also finished one place out of the top-15 in the shot put, taking 16th with a final mark of 13.48 meters (44 feet, 2-3/4 inches).
Garret Bonk crossed the finish line in 1:59.68 in the 800-meter run to grab 15th place with his best time of the year.
