The Wabash College Theater Department will present its third theater production of the season, The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh, on February 25-28. The performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. each evening in the Experimental Theater in the Fine Arts Center.
With echoes of Stoppard, Kafka, and the Brothers Grimm, The Pillowman centers on a writer in an unnamed totalitarian state who is being interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a series of child murders. The result is an urgent work of theatrical bravura and an unflinching examination of the very nature and purpose of art. "The Pillowman [is] thoroughly starting and genuinely intimidating," says the Chicago Tribune.
The cast list includes Wabash students: Spencer Elliott as Katurian; Matthew Goodrich as Tupolski; Daniel Masterson as Ariel; and Luke Robbins as Michal. Stage Manager is Anthony Morton.
Wabash Associate Professor of Theater Michael Abbott is the director.
Seating for Theater productions will be by general admission, though free tickets are required for Theater productions.
