Horne's Two-Hitter Leads Wabash to Big Win over Olivet

Sophomore pitcher Jon Horne (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) fired a complete-game two-hitter while the Wabash baseball team scored 13 runs on 20 hits to take a 13-0 victory over Olivet College on Saturday at Mud Hollow Field.

Horne went scoreless innings on the mound, striking out five to earn the victory.

The Little Giants exploded for six runs in the second inning, then added a seven-spot in the fourth to cruise to the victory.

Sophomore second baseman Nick George (West Lafayette, IN/Harrison) finished the game with three hits in five trips to the plate, including a double, two runs scored, and one RBI. Junior Mike Mack (Butler, IN/Eastside) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Dan Matusik (Highland, IN/Highland) also went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

The victory moves Wabash to 9-6 for the season. The Little Giants will play Olivet in two seven-inning contest on Sunday afternoon at Mud Hollow Field, beginning at noon.
